Marty Martindale, a social/cultural anthropology major who has been writing non-fiction for over 30 years, today concentrates on food and cruise writing that has taken her to the Caribbean, Brazil, the length of Central America, and along the Mediterranean.
She started her cruise industry experience with an international weekly and soon added first-hand knowledge of all aspects of the industry. Martindale has published work in business and travel publications including Cruise And Vacation Views, several encyclopedias of foods, Gale Publications, Gourmet Retailer to pop-psych pieces for the National Enquirer.
In 2001, Martindale founded www.FoodSiteoftheDay.com, which hosts guest columnists and daily features websites concerning themselves with recipes, food news, ethnic offerings, ideas, history, trends, food customs and information centers.
Martindale’s memberships include the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), the Association for the Study of Food & Study (ASFS) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). She is the recipient of an Addy Broadcasting Award and the 2005 Cordon d’Or Crystal Globe Website Award for Food Site of the Day.
